Armstrong - Henry Clay

Source: Montgomery County, Indiana Crawfordsville Weekly Jounral 12-21-1900

Henry Clay Armstrong was born March 31, 1833 and died Dec 12, 1900. His life was a bright Christian example having become a member of the Christian Church when young. He has eer tried to live that he might die in peace. When told that his time for this world was short he said he had lived to prepare to die and he was ready and willing to go whenever the Lord seemed fit to call him to a mansion of glory which is prepared for those who love and serve him. Thus he died with a full assurance of a blessed hereafter. He closed his eyes to open them on a brighter, fairer shore, where no tear of sorrow shall again dim his sight and is now singing praises to Him who doeth all things well. He leaves a wife, five children and two sisters with a countless number of friends to mourn his loss. The funeral services were conducted at his home by Rev. AW Conner (poem). - kbz
